In my time in leadership I have had a million conversations with people who truly desire to go the the next level. The problem is they want to bring the baggage of the burdens, the trunk of their troubles , the luggage of their lust, or the problems with people on the journey. But in order to move into the next level of your life you will need to practice the spiritual discipline of separation.
Therefore, come out from among unbelievers, and separate yourselves from them, says the LORD. Don’t touch their filthy things, and I will welcome you. - 2 Cor. 6:17
Most people don't think of separation as a spiritual discipline. That's why the enemy wants to keep it a secret, because it is the secret to your spiritual success. So, if the enemy can keep it hidden from you, he will also keep your destiny out of reach!
I had a pastor accuse me of some things. In fact, I could not believe some of the unfounded accusations that they have leveled at me. In this conversation I felt the intentional hurt. To be truly transparent, they basically said 'they intended it to hurt' (my language, not theirs). Ouch! Needless to say, I have forgiven that person, but I have separated myself from their direct influence on my life. My mother used to always say, "Just because I am a Christian does not mean WELCOME is written on my forehead. I ain't your doormat."
If God is going to take you higher you will have to lighten your load. That means you may have to separate from some people, some places, and some problems. As you examine the Bible you will quickly discover that many of God's greatest heroes had to walk in separation before their elevation!
Separate from your past to elevate to your potential!
Separate from friendships to elevate your faith!
Separate from division to elevate to your destiny.
What do you need to separate from? Who do you need to separate from? Don't wait or hesitate. The longer you wait to separate the longer it will take to elevate! Remember, the spiritual discipline of separation will lead to your elevation!!!!
This was so good. I think often times the seperation frightens us, because it's all we know. Letting go and walking into the new is fear of the unknown, but it is meant for the good.
