"LEADERS DON'T JUST GO TO THE NEXT LEVEL - THEY GROW TO THE NEXT LEVEL!"

MORE PRAYER vs. MORE TRUST

There are many things that people use to help themselves cope with life, difficulty, and problems. Some people run to a bottle, others get stuck in porn, many insulate via social media, and still more get stuck in poor behaviors to mask their pain. In the 48 years of life God has blessed me with (so far, believing for 48 more), I have learned that prayer is the vital key to overcome any obstacle! It helps us weather the storms of life and the attacks of the enemy.

I know that when I have gone through certain difficulties I was always told, "Just pray more." My thought was, "I am praying more, fasting more, believing more, trusting more." It always left me feeling like my prayers were never good enough. Then I would beat myself up every single time. It became self-defeating to talk to most Christians about my struggles. Prayer is not the only key in seeing circumstances from a different perspective.

Then, all of a sudden, it hit me. Maybe the problem is not more prayer but more trust! Is it possible that I need to trust God's response to my prayers more than my prayers themselves?

TRUST MATTERS.

So many people today have trust issues. Yes, it's true. Yes, there is power in prayer, but there is also power in trust. The Bible declares, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). Notice it says to trust in the Lord with all of your heart. That simply means I have to have complete trust in God. That is often tough because our circumstances often are faced with challenges and difficulty. And that is why the Psalmist went on to say "lean not on your own understanding," because if you try and figure it out you will be left trustless.

Trust matters. It matters as much as the prayers we pray. If we only pray but do not trust we will be frustrated with God's answers many times.

Let me ask you a question: Do you trust God with your prayers?

PRAY WITH TRUST

I have some pretty simple advice: When you pray trust God with the results. Yes, that is difficult. Yes, that can be frustrating. Yes, that can seem overwhelming. Here's why - we love to be in control and control is an illusion. No one is in control except God.

When I walk into my prayer place or pray with someone I am always trusting God. He knows way more than I do - in fact, not one person is even close! He has not just seen your tomorrows He has been there (That's crazy right?). So, why would I not trust a God who has already written the story of my life? I must. I will.

I learned this lesson years ago: "If its God's Will - it's God's Bill." I can't sweat the small stuff or even the big stuff. Choose to pray with trust! Always!

Sometimes it's not that we need to pray more - but we need to trust more in the God who hears our prayers!

Don't freak out - faith up! God has you in the palm of His hand. You destiny is secure, your future is bright, and your God is faithful!
